The BVM-1 substrate is an organic MIXED GROWING MEDIUM made from plant Mantillo and volcanic gravel. This product allows for the establishment of a semi-extensive green roof, or semi-extensive ecological roofs—and in some cases, intensive ones—for the cultivation of plant species with low irrigation needs: low-growing Mediterranean-type plants, groundcover plants, and species suited for xeriscaping.
The BVM-1 substrate allows for the planting of cultivated species in a minimal layer of substrate that can be less than 10 cm thick. Using thin layers of substrate helps reduce the final weight of the cover.
