PRODEASA growing media are manufactured from high-quality raw materials that, when precisely blended, ensure the media’s effectiveness, providing drainage and aeration tailored to the needs of each crop. Each type of growing media has a different composition and a customized fertilizer blend. All growing media are sold with a corrected pH (5.5–6.5) and a base fertilizer (NPK) for the start of cultivation. Among PRODEASA’s growing media, there are four main lines that differ in terms of material type and properties. BV LINE Growing media made with ECOBOSC that produce more resilient crops that tolerate transplanting into the ground better. It is the perfect alternative to peat, as the natural presence of beneficial microorganisms in the mixture has positive effects on plant growth and tolerance to adverse conditions. Its formulation also includes volcanic pozzolan (to facilitate drainage and maintain the substrate’s structure) and 35% Sphagnum blond peat. Helps harden plants. PRODEASA BVT The BVT substrate is made from Ecobosc compost, clay, and volcanic pozzolan. An important component of the substrate is pine bark, which helps suppress certain plant diseases and fungi. BVT has high water retention thanks to the clay, which holds some of the water and releases it gradually. It also improves cation exchange, allowing for better nutrient utilization. The weight of the clay helps prevent the substrate from being blown over by the wind. Volcanic rock provides the substrate with the porosity needed to aerate it and maintain that aeration throughout the entire growing season.

PRODEASA BVT
The BVT substrate is made from Ecobosc compost, clay, and volcanic pozzolan.

The main component of the BVT substrate is ECOBOSC ©, to which clay and volcanic pozzolan are added.

The composition of this mix is notable for its clay content, which enhances the substrate’s drought resistance and improves its cation exchange capacity and nutrient-holding ability. This substrate allows for less frequent watering and fertilizing.
The growing medium for containers on green roofs allows plants to take root easily and thrive. At the same time, it meets the necessary requirements for planting at height. It allows shrubs or trees to develop strong roots, which helps anchor them in place.
The growing medium has a density of 1,405 kg/m³.

Applications and Uses

Ideal for Cupresssus, Pyracantha, Euonymus, Nerium, Viburnum, aromatic plants, and rock garden plants.
It is well suited for semi-intensive cultivation with non-scheduled irrigation, as it allows for longer intervals between waterings.
Suitable for transplanting large plants and for directly potting shrubs and trees dug up from the field.
An excellent growing medium for use in intensive green roofs.
