PRODEASA growing media are manufactured from high-quality raw materials that, when precisely blended, ensure the media’s effectiveness, providing drainage and aeration tailored to the needs of each crop. Each type of growing media has a different composition and a customized fertilizer blend. All growing media are sold with the pH adjusted (5.5–6.5) and with a base fertilizer (NPK) for the start of cultivation. Among PRODEASA’s growing media, there are four main lines that differ in terms of material type and properties. STC LINE With rapid rooting action. Growing media made from long-fiber coconut coir and light-colored Sphagnum peat to improve crop rooting. This line of growing media can be made by combining: graded or ungraded light-colored peat and coconut coir. PRODEASA SCI-3 The SCI-3 growing medium is a blend of blond peat and long-fiber coconut coir. It is specially designed to facilitate root establishment and accelerate forced growth.

PRODEASA SCI-3
The SCI-3 growing medium is a blend of blond peat and long-fiber coconut coir. It is specially designed to facilitate root establishment and accelerate forced growth.

The main components of SUSTRATO SCI are blond Sphagnum peat from Baltic peat bogs in Northern Europe and coconut fiber, free of fine particles. The mixture can be prepared by incorporating different amounts of fertilizer depending on the crop’s needs and the customer’s requirements.

The mixture of peat and coconut fiber has excellent physical properties. The resulting growing medium is remarkably light and has high water-holding capacity. The ingredients in the growing medium extend its lifespan due to their slow decomposition.

SCI-3 is a 15-7-15S + 3MgO base fertilizer designed to promote growth during the first few days of cultivation. A FertiCote controlled-release fertilizer can be added if you wish to extend the growing cycle in the container and provide nutrients until the very last day.

Applications and Uses

The SCI-3 growing medium is particularly well-suited for growing Mediterranean-climate shrubs (Nerium, Viburnum, Eonymus, Pyracantha) and container-grown citrus trees.
